Alicia-Administrative and Office Coordinator:

Baking during the holidays has always been a tradition in my household growing up. I have several great memories of baking cookies with my mom in the kitchen—learning the recipes and techniques all while making sure I was the one who got to lick the batter off the spoons. My mom, being the great baker that she is, would spend all day making cookie dough and cutting out cookie shapes so everyone had their own batch to decorate. We’d have icing, sprinkles, and all sorts of treats to decorate the cookies with.

What I love most about these particular cookies is they remind me of many great Christmases. Every year, my brother and I would invite our friends over to the house during the holidays for a cookie decorating party. The recipe I used this year is really straightforward, doesn’t take long to bake, and the batter tastes amazing! There’s also a lot of ways you can be creative with this recipe through the ingredients you add, or the way you decide to cut the dough and decorate. This time, I went with a much simpler design for the decorating (and way fewer sprinkles). I hope this recipe can spark a few new holiday traditions for you as it did for me and my family.
