Get To Know Us - Kristine Brevik

It’s important when we meet with potential clients who require a marketing company that we put our best foot forward. The charming personality attached to that foot is our Business Development Coordinator, Kristine. Responsible for searching out new clients for Sayvee to grow our business, and meeting with clients to present our marketing services, Kristine plays a crucial role in the growth of the company. She also handles documenting the services clients decided on amongst other paperwork.

In addition, Kristine plays the role of photographer on occasion for the office as she runs her own professional wedding photography business when she’s not working here. She brings a fun, outgoing, radiant personality to the office and can often be found in the boardroom determining what type of marketing services a client needs to grow their business.

So Kristine, why did you choose to work at Sayvee?

When I looked into the company they seemed to be great people who really care about their clients and had a fun work environment (based on their social media). I was really happy to find out all of that turned out to be true.

In ten words or less can you describe your favourite part of your job?

Learning about our clients and their unique businesses.

If you could write your own job title for what you do here what would it be?

It’s hard to come up with one encompassing job title but it would have to combine Bagel Eater, Client Information Organizer, and Proposal Writer somehow into one title. Maybe something like Client-Facing Bagel Eater Organizer. I’m sure there’s something better than that.

Alright now we get into the real questions. First up: What three items would you buy together just to make the cashier laugh?

Being pregnant right now, probably a lot of Mini Egg chocolates, a jar of pickles and some Tums. The Mini Eggs because they’re delicious and sweet, and pickles because they’re salty. Maybe I’d even eat them at the same time, although that’s when the Tums would probably come in.

What does your ideal lunch look like?

This often changes, but today I’d say perogies and sausage sound pretty tasty! There’s just so many options for delicious food. I can’t really give you a definite answer for all-time, but you can’t go wrong with perogies, maybe even a little sour cream for a meal. The sausage is just a bonus.

Surprise! The lunch was a ruse and you’ve been challenged to a duel by a mysterious stranger, what would be your weapon of choice if it was a fight to the death?

Probably the perogies I was just eating at my lunch; I would throw the perogies at the stranger. Maybe he would start catching them with his mouth and after eating a few he’d leave me be or we’d become friends. Although he did just challenge me to a fight to the death...

On a less challenging note, what’s one of your top five TV shows you’ve ever seen?

There are so many good shows out there it’s hard to choose. Off the top of my head I would say The Walking Dead. Although really only the first few seasons, I honestly lost interest after that. Things just felt a bit drawn out to me.

If you had to be trapped in a movie, what film would you want to be trapped in?

I can’t really think of one I’d want to be trapped in per se, but I could at least give you the genre I’d love to experience. The best genre would be one some sort of mystery ideally set in the early 1900’s around the UK. Beautiful castles, lots of fancy parties, very classy style choices, and lots of tea (like Downtown Abbey) would really appeal to me.

What would you name your cruise ship if you had one?

I am not one to name things I own personally, but I definitely wouldn’t mind owning a giant cruise ship. If I was really pressed for a name for it I would name it after my daughter McKenna. I’m sure she would be thrilled even if we named a canoe after her (she’s almost 2).

What’s your biggest cooking disaster?

More like a barbequing disaster really. Dinner was almost ready, I was ready to take the burgers off the barbeque when I slipped and the burgers (all eight of them) fell onto the ground. There's still remittance of burger frozen in the snow (and maybe a little of me too). Then there was that time (last week) when the barbeque caught on fire and charred all my kabobs. It was a sad day.

What’s the craziest/weirdest conversation you’ve ever had?

Not many stand out in particular, but generally when random people mention you look like someone they know and just stare, that weirds me out. That being said, I have a toddler so conversations are always a little crazy. You never really know what they’re going to say.

Let’s switch back to marketing, what’s one of your favourite ads you’ve seen?

One that comes to mind as most memorable is the ‘Got Milk?’ campaign. Those ads were everywhere. I can appreciate the success it had in getting just about everyone to buy milk more often. It was basically a staple of popular culture which is pretty impressive for one company’s advertising campaign.

What’s one aspect of your job you’d like to see future developments for that would make it easier?

Definitely a better booking system for meetings. It would be great to set something up so that clients can book their own desired time slot with us. At this point I’m sure something like that exists, it would be nice to have something similar in my day-to-day work though.

Thanks for taking the time to answer Kristine! Look forward in the coming months to more interviews with the simply smart, smiling, and savvy Sayvee team!
