measuring-tape

Does size matter? Like really matter? I mean in the grand scheme of things, is it really that big of a deal?

The answer is yes! Absolutely, unequivocally, YES! Naturally, we’re talking about size as it relates to the amount of traffic your website experiences on a month to month basis (what did YOU think we were talking about?)

Want more traffic to your website?

Want to get more online leads?

Then you need to understand how your website is performing right now. Most people don’t know where to begin when it comes to looking at website data. But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

When it comes to your website there are two things we want to look at first:

  1. How many people are visiting your website (traffic)
  2. How your website ranks based on the keywords people use to find you (keyword ranking)

People search on Google in order to solve a problem, find a location, or a service. The ideal situation is that your target audience finds what they’re looking for by being directed to your website. With this in mind, your ranking (or position) on a Google search page is of paramount importance.

HOW DO I KNOW HOW MY SITE IS DOING?

We use Google Analytics to measure site traffic as it’s by far the most accurate and widely used tool for measuring traffic for your company’s website. We also use a Rank Tracker that allows us to see how your website is performing when it comes to people searching for your site.

Here’s an overview of both tools . . .

1) Google Analytics
Google Analytics is by far the most accurate and widely used tool for measuring traffic for your company’s website. It integrates nicely with most other tools and reporting systems, and works smoothly with Google AdWords to manage and measure campaigns, and track goals and conversions in order to give you an accurate ROI.

Most importantly it tells you how many people visit your site, where they’re located, how long they spend on the site, and which pages they spend the most time on.

“A digital marketing agency, like Sayvee, tends to plumb the depths (even the dark and scary ones) of Analytics in order to gather essential information about your target demographics and to help shift marketing efforts in the right direction.”

2) Rank Tracker
A Rank Tracker report details how easily your site is found for relevant keywords on search engines including Google, Google Maps, Yahoo, and Bing — it can even show you search results that would be tailored to searchers in your geographic area. These results are then streamlined into a report which summarizes the number of keywords you rank #1 for on these search engines, the number you rank in the top 10 for (i.e. on the first page of search results) and the number you rank in the top 50 for. Finally, it provides an itemized list of each individual keyword, and your general ranking for that keyword.

HOW DO I INTERPRET THE RESULTS?

A digital marketing agency, like Sayvee, tends to plumb the depths (even the dark and scary ones) of Analytics and Rank Tracking in order to gather essential information about your target demographics and to help shift marketing efforts in the right direction. We do this so you don’t have to (seriously, it’s scary down there). We then use the results and trends to help build, guide, and execute a marketing strategy for your company.
